About Us
DJW Productions was founded in 1996 by Darren Weller.
He has over 20 years of experience in the industry, staring as a humble jingle writer at TT Music. Darren has extensive experience; from individual corporate clients to production houses to local and international advertising firms.
Apart from jingles, music composition is another forte of Darren’s talent. He has composed music for numerous product and corporate videos and even corporate songs. Multimedia presentations at the newly refurbished Muzium Negara (National Museum) in Kuala Lumpur also feature his compositions. Since 2006, Darren has also ventured into composing and producing for albums.
From 1999 to 2006, Darren was also the recording sound engineer for the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra. Not only was this a great opportunity to work with maestros like Kees Bakels and Kevin Field but also to do live recording for Malaysia’s premier orchestra at their home hall, the Dewan Filharmonik Petronas, arguably the best classical performing venue in Malaysia.
Starting and building DJW Productions has been fantastic journey for Darren and with the recent expansion to include more associate composers and sound engineers, the studio has now expanded its services to include film scoring, film soundtracks and motion dubbing. This will definitely take the studio to greater heights.
Music has and always will be a very big part of Darren’s life.
